CHERWELL CRIME PARTNERSHIP - BICESTER
Cherwell Crime Partnership was formally extended to Bicester in March 2009.
The scheme in Bicester is managed by a Steering Group chaired by
Rachel Falkner from Bicester Vision, and comprises of representatives from the Town Council, the Police, Bicester Avenue, Bicester Village and Retailers from the town.
Our Steering Group meets every six weeks to discuss current issues, training/support available to members and to share intelligence on known/suspected offenders.
The partnership funds a co-ordinator who works closely with representatives from the Town Council, Thames Valley Police neighbourhood team and CCTV operators. Both the Police and Council Street Wardens patrol Bicester giving members the added benefit of being able to share and receive "live" information on suspected offenders by radio communication and CCTV surveillance.
Whilst only recently becoming operational, the scheme within Bicester has already attracted a number of members and the list is growing week by week.

EXCLUSIONS/INTELLIGENCE
As of January 2010, there are currently 10 Exclusion Notices in operation and an intelligence album of approximately 26 people, which has been distributed throughout the membership.
The Bicester Co-ordinator works closely with the Cherwell District Council CCTV operators and Thames Valley Police Neighbourhood teams. Giving the scheme added benefit of being in close contact with the officers and PCSO's who patrol the areas.
There are many benefits from joining the scheme but it relies upon retailers joining, sharing information and working together.
