First Drink Banning Order in England and Wales
A Banbury man received the first drink banning order in England and Wales in December 2009 after repeatedly breaching the Exclusion Notice placed on him by Banbury Pubwatch, a part of Cherwell Crime Partnership.

The scheme at Banbury has been in operation since 1991 and been amalgamated into the Cherwell Crime Partnership. This very successful
town scheme has been accredited with the Safer Shopping Award and then the Safer Business Award for the last eight years.
With a range of businesses and a current membership of 65+ the scheme continues to grow month by month building good community relations.

EXCLUSIONS/INTELLIGENCE
As of March 2009, there are currently 31 Exclusion Notice's in operation and an intelligence album of approximately 18 people which has been distributed throughout the membership.
Banbury Co-ordinators work closely with Castle Quay Security, Cherwell District Council CCTV Operators and the Thames Valley Police Neighbourhood teams, of which there are three. They are for the Town - Grimsbury, Cherwell Heights and Easington - Ruscote, Hardwick and Neithrop. Giving the scheme added benefit of being in close contact with the officers and PCSO's who patrol the areas.

Invoices are produced each April. Businesses joining during the invoice year will be charged pro-rata.
Once a part of the CCP, members are encouraged to consider:
STORENET/NITENET RADIO LINK which is a town centre based radio system, operated by businesses, licensees, CCTV and police. This system is owned and operated by M.R.S. Communications Limited and enables you to share and receive information on local and travelling offenders and help prevent anti-social behaviour.
Rental Costs: STORENET/NITENET RADIO LINK is £7.00 per week, per unit. Minimum hire is 52 weeks.
